Merry Christmas from Elephant Heart

by elyse / 12 25 11

What a truly INCREDIBLE Holiday Season it’s been so far!  Our project with the Bob Woodruff Foundation has been a bigger success than we could have ever imagined.  I am humbled and so grateful for the overwhelming support we received from our Elephant Heart customers–so far we have raised over $6500 to donate to the Woodruff Foundation to continue their outstanding work with injured service members and their families.  We at Elephant Heart feel truly blessed and inspired to have had the opportunity to work closely with everyone at BWF–what an amazing group of full-hearted and dedicated individuals!

I am still absorbing the impact of this project and will have many more reflections to come, but for now, I want to say THANK YOU, Merry Chirstmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a happy and healthy New Year to ALL!

(and I hope everyone is enjoying their Elephant Heart Charm Necklaces!!)

Sculpture meets Jewelry

by elyse / 10 20 10

wall_sculpture.jpgUntil very recently, I have kept my work designing jewelry for Elephant Heart completely separate from my work as an artist.  I just never seemed to be able to make a connection between my two creative outlets.

Lately I’ve started to experiment with new materials for creating sculpture.  I’ve transferred the knowledge I have about casting jewelry to my sculptural pieces.  As I began to play with color and form in my sculpture, I saw an opportunity for new jewelry pieces.

The Globos Earrings are a direct result of the sculptural pieces I have been working on.  The images below are of a wall sculpture made from the same materials as the Globos Earrings.  This is my inspiration:
