Thanksgiving is my most favorite Holiday of the year. We get to take a moment from our busy lives to spend time with family and friends and reflect on the many blessings we have as American citizens. My family has a tradition of going around the table before our meal and sharing a few words about what makes us most thankful. There is always a resounding echo of “I’m thankful for my family and for the health of my family.”
This holiday season we here at Elephant Heart decided to extend that sentiment of gratitude to the service members who have risked their health for the security of our country and who may not be able to sit around the Thanksgiving table with their families this year.
In conjunction with our ongoing project with the Bob Woodruff Foundation–where Elephant Heart is donating 50% of the proceeds from the sale of our Elephant Heart Charm Necklace to further the Woodruff Foundation’s support of injured service members and their families–we asked the students and teachers of 32nd Street School to help us extend our gratitude to those serving our country this holiday season.
Students and teachers alike took time from their busy days to write notes and make drawings on Elephant Heart Greeting Cards expressing their gratitude and warm wishes for all those injured while serving our country.
We packed up all the cards and delivered them to the Woodruff Foundation who will distribute the cards to injured service members in the hospital this Thanksgiving Day.
Please take a moment to look at some of the cards below.
Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving from the Elephant Heart Team!
